Eastern Shore Mushroom Farm
About Us
The mushroom industry has been a family-operated agricultural business that produces a highly regarded food product. Mushrooms are produced in highly controlled facilities that only produce when oxygen, water, temperatures, substrate (growing media) and timing are provided at exact times. Mushroom production occurs in periods of time, frequencies, and quantities that only technology and building design enable. Labor is also a specialty and only when specific tasks are met. The major products used in growing mushrooms are recycled agricultural products such as hay, straw, chicken litter, corn cobs, gypsum, and cotton seed hulls. It is our long range plan to build and operate a mushroom facility in Galena, Maryland, on our recently purchased farm.
