About Us

Fairwinds Farm & Stables, Inc. is an award-winning riding stable and bed & breakfast, open year-round, offering riding lessons, birthday parties, horse shows, summer camp, hay rides, pony rides, trail rides, tea parties, fresh produce, and horse-drawn carriages. Owners Ted & JoAnn Dawson are college instructors, 4-H leaders, animal wranglers for film and TV, and motivational speakers. JoAnn Dawson is a LEAD Maryland fellow, a SAG member, and appointee to the State Equine Committee. In addition, she is the author of the award-winning Lucky Foot Stable series of books for middle readers. Fairwinds Farm has been featured in The New York Times, Baltimore Sun, Country Woman and Maryland Life magazines, and on Good Morning America.
